Summary: Prowl's first impression on Jazz was quite different. Jazz was facing the gorgeous pursuit vehicle as it transformed into an equally gorgeous mech whose faceplates were set in a stern but still professional expression. It wasn't hard to figure out that Prowl knew who Jazz was and Prowl was not pleased.

 

A.k.a. the Curious Incident of Too Many Prowls. Starscream will never look at Prowl the same, but neither will Smokescreen.

"By Primus," you say, "Hours, are you reccing something where Prowl is in a relationship with someone not Jazz??" "Yes, yes I am," I say, "and you will thank me."

I skipped over this one so many times, until pipermca  recc'd it for Day 2 and then I sat down and pretty much devoured it in a day or so. Soundwave is relatively sympathetic. Jazz is cunning and crafty and not to be underestimated. The post-war Decepticons-won society is well built and truly dystopian.

Jazz had always felt that Prowl was a little...different than the rest of them.

 

You wake up early, but the drone is left on your doorstep even earlier than that. As soon as you get the alerts from your security system, it isn’t soon enough. The thing has been out there for breems already, right in full view of any curious passerby. You consider leaving it out there even longer—it would be an unmistakable insult to whoever sent it, but just vague enough to prevent them from acting on it—but that will just keep making your private business public, as more and more people see your… present.

 

When you open your apartment door to see the thing yourself, your first impression is large— not unusual for a drone, but it’s one thing to see them as fixtures all over the planet, and another to see this particular one and realize that you’re going to have to be responsible for it. The drone’s head swivels down, and its single red optic focuses on you. There are only a few people down below on the street, but they’re staring.

I can't say enough good things about this fic. This is another one I devoured in a sitting. Prowl is a master manipulator as usual per IDW but still approachable. You go through so many different emotions as you read through and I just want to tell you ALL THE THINGS at the same time I fear spoiling it for you. It's magnificent and you need to go read it right now.
