A Third Option, Chapters Three and Four - Fake Dating AU and Friends to Lovers AU respectively. NSFW in the even-numbered chapters. Prowl, Jazz, and Mirage's relationship develops from one of mutual respect to something more.

Family Business - Royalty AU! Hound winds up as king of Monoplex. He's not happy about this. Neither are quite a few other people.

In Exchange - Decepticon!Prowl AU.

The Poisoned Needle and the Crystal Grove - Fairy tale AU based on Gold-Tree and Silver-Tree. IDW-based, for once.

Intent - Sequel to In Exchange. Prowl's courting someone. He probably should have let them know.

Looking Ahead - Jazz says good-bye to his sibling before heading off to university.

Embodiment - First Aid finds himself irresistibly drawn to the forbidden research wing of the hospital.

A Third Option (Chapters One and Two) - Mirage's contracted spouse has feelings for someone else, but still goes through with the marriage. Fortunately, Mirage is an accommodating mech.

Direct Methods - Ricochet gets tired of waiting to be asked out and takes the initiative.

I did not post anything in June. I think that's the first month I've missed posting something since August 2018. I have one thing ready to post that's waiting for the late posting period for Into a Bar but that's it. I did get quite a bit of writing done, just nothing finished and ready to go other than that, though.

One of my WiP Big Bang fics is in the final editing phase and I've got ends in sight for the other two. Plus, a zine project I'm quite excited to be working on!

Oh, and because I'm bad with knowing limits, another round of Trope Bingo and AU Yeah AUgust. (No, I haven't finished AU Yeah AUgust 2019. Yes, that joke I made about the last segment of AU Yeah AUgust 2019 being the first of AU Yeah AUgust 2020 turned out to be prophetic. Whoops?)

So that's exciting and terrifying all at once and I'm so curious to see what my artist comes up with!

I didn't get much finished in May but that's largely because things that were SUPPOSED to be short ballooned...and because I might have signed up for WiPBigBang again. With three fics. Uh, oops? But I did get a couple of things up:

Sacrifice - Jazz isn't happy about getting sent to be eaten by a dragon. That's...not exactly what happens, though.

Webcloak - Not finished in May, actually written for AU Yeah AUgust 2018 but I wanted to separate it out so it could be part of the fairy tales series.

Okay, look, at this rate the last two fics from AU Yeah AUgust 2019 are going to be the first two of AU Yeah AUgust 2020, since they refuse to be short, but the Time Travel AU and the Nobility/Arranged Marriage AU are still ongoing. I've also got three fics going for WiP Big Bang and one for Into a Bar. That's just what I'm actively working on, there's a whole lot more on the WiP list - and I'm pretty sure it expands on its own when I'm not looking.

Almost finished AU Yeah AUgust, except the Nobility/Arranged Marriage/Historical AU...thing that was just supposed to be quick just topped the 10K mark...(That includes cut scenes that I just move to the bottom, but still!) I'm focusing on getting AU Yeah AUgust done right now, then moving back to some of my other WiPs.This is Day 29, then I've got Days 30 and 31 to do something with.

Fic I Posted in March

Retrograde - In The End of the War Prowl wakes up after a year in a coma thanks to the injuries he sustained in the attack on the shuttle travelling from the moonbase to Autobot City. There's some worry that his memory might have been affected. In TEotW it wasn't, but Retrograde explores what might have happened if it had been.

Verification - Day 23 of AU Yeah AUgust 2019. Jazz is a witch who opens a bakery. Prowl is attracted and bad at flirting.

Connection - I wanted to explore the idea that a) the whole soulmate idea doesn't have to be romantic and/or sexual (I mean, what, if you're aro and/or ace, you don't get a soulmate?) and b) just because someone is going to be important in your life, it doesn't mean they're going to be important in a good way.

WiPs

Focusing on finishing AU Yeah AUgust 2019, working down Trope Bingo Round 14, and fic for Prowl Week, plus pecking away at a couple of fics for zines I applied to, TF Rarepair Zine and [Redacted], a TF horror zine. I'm still waiting to hear back about my applications. I've never applied for anything like that and I'm not sure whether I'm more anxious over the idea of being accepted, or not being accepted!

AU Yeah AUgust 2019 - Working on Day 24. Still possible I'll get this done before August 2020.

Trope Bingo Round 14: Prompt - Power Glows - Another sparkmate fic that is also a magic au, based on a prompt. Written in first person POV!

Prowl Week: Prompt - Crash - I don't know if I'll do all the prompts for this one but I'm hoping to at least get one done.

Fic I Posted in February

The Mentor - F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. There were four separate iterations of this, with this one being the last and the first one getting split off into The Party. I just needed to get this part of it told before I could move on to more.

Presents, a new chapter of Overloaded, my ongoing anthology for decidedly NSFW scenes. This was originally two separate shorts, one Prowl/Perceptor and the other Perceptor/Jazz, but they actually worked well together so...why not?

Oil and Bubbles - Trope Bingo has started up again and one of my prompts for this round was 'bubble bath.' If you're wondering how you manage to get soap bubbles or the equivalent to work with oil, the answer is 'science' and I cannot help you any further than that.

Topaz - #3 in the Principátus series.

AU Yeah AUgust 2019 - I'm STILL working on Day 23 but I think it's almost done. I had a version of it but I didn't like it so I scrapped it.

Unplanned Reproduction (working title) - an expansion of Chapter 29: Unplanned Reproduction from AU Yeah AUgust 2018. I forget how long the original fill was but the (unedited) draft is up to over 30k.

The Five Fingers of the Guiding Hand - Optimus Prime and Megatron run competing museums. Grimlock and Starscream are rival archaeologists hot on the trail of five sacred artifacts said to have belonged to the Guiding Hand and scattered across former Cybertronian colonies. Oh, and it started for an Rivals to Lovers fill for Trope Bingo Round 12 and resurfaced as I started to work down my WiP backlog.

Guarding Meister (working title) - Prowl is the Enforcer assigned to guard Meister, thief turned state's evidence, while the latter is under protective custody. This took a turn I did not expect but that happens when you're writing stream-of-consciousness.

Amnesia (working title) - Another entry for Trope Bingo Round 14. in The End of the War Prowl wakes up after a year in a coma thanks to the injuries he sustained in the attack on the shuttle travelling from the moonbase to Autobot City. But what if his memory had been affected after all?

Fic I Posted in December

Interconnected References (Assassin AU #7) - It took most of a year but I finally managed to get it done! I could not get it to work the way I wanted so numerous rewrites were required. I will try not to have nearly another year go by before part 8 is out but sadly can make no promises.

Overloaded - Roughly the same time last year I posted Second Act I was fretting over posting something that was basically just porn. I nearly restricted it to registered users only on AO3. But now? Yeah, have an anthology of unconnected, plotless smut, free for everyone to see.

Vital Signs - I'm still trying to finish AU Yeah AUgust 2019 but stuff keeps running away from me. Oops. I keep trying to write drabbles but things will keep getting longer.

Plus, I've got three more fics (a plotless fluffy one and two Secret Solenoids) that I finished in December but haven't posted yet that should go up soon.

Fic I Finished in November
With Full Knowledge of Identity - I keep saying I'm done with the immortal!Jazz and reincarnated!Prowl 'verse but, like Prowl, it keeps coming back to life. :) The title for this one took me forever to get pinned down.

Overloaded - It's a porn anthology, with varying levels of smuttiness in each ficlet. I'm listing it as 'finished' because the first little ficlet is done. There are more waiting but I don't have a regular update schedule for this one. Just whenever I don't have anything else to post, I guess.

Interconnected References - A continuation of Assassin AU at last! I've been working on this pretty much since I finished Workspace but it's been fighting me. I finally realized that part of the problem was Jazz never having inquired into the nature of their seed client and him just generally being too damn incurious as it was. That's why there's a prologue flashing back to the interim between A Transfer of Skills and Workspace.

AU Yeah AUgust 2019 chapters seven and eight (days sixteen and seventeen, respectively.) Megatron summoning Soundwave as a supernatural servant didn't quite work out the way I wanted but who says I can only write one version of something?

Prowl x Jazz Hallowe'en Challenge 2019 - Five separate fills as part of prowlxjazz Hallowe'en Bingo 2019:

Replay - Prowl just wants a quiet summer but it's not to be.
Ghost Stories - I had fun making up the ghost stories for this one, and I guess I genuinely creeped people out with them, so, good job, me!
Homework - Me: What can I do for the cursed prompt? Brain: Let's combine Macbeth and The King in Yellow! Me: ....sure.
Working Magic - Apparently women over 25 reading/writing smut "threatens the very foundations of the patriarchy." [Source] So, here's a couple blows from me.
Ritual - The general idea of this - Prowl goes back to Praxus for college and Jazz goes with him - was in play from the very beginning but the overall plot didn't come until I was trying to figure out what Prowl and Jazz could do with the info from the grimoire. That didn't fit in Working Magic but came in useful here.

The

prowlxjazz fills again account for the vast majority of the words written and posted last month, just over 25K in the raw doc (which includes the AO3 metadata, footnotes, research notes, commentary, and any cut scenes) and around 21K in the published series.

Experimental Chemistry - Another AU Yeah AUgust 2019 fill, this time for the Bartender prompt and also used for Trope Bingo's Love Triangle prompt. I don't plan to do anything else with this one but I might go back and play with the Perceptor/Jazz/Wheeljack idea somewhere else.

TF Rare Pairing - Trick or Treat Challenge 2019 Edition - Six fills for

tf_rare_pairing's Hallowe'en challenge:

Storytime - Again, had a lot of fun adapting/creating stories for Bluestreak and Hound to tell each other in the forest.
The Fog - Fog is wonderful and spooky. Writing this, I learned there are a surprising number of stock photos of abandoned cars.
Distraction - Knock Out/Dreadwing fluff.
Mutual Comfort - Mirage and Bluestreak snuggling each other after reliving trauma, basically.
Skyfrost - The phantom hitchhiker is my favorite urban legend so of course I had to do something with it for this. :)
Anomalous - This wound up shorter than I expected but wanting to talk to and help ghosts requires more sympathy than I see TF:P Megatron having so he just got right to the heart of the problem and blew it up instead.

I had fun adapting two urban legends (that I learned at camp myself) and making up one Cybertronian one.

Forgot to post this at the start of the month! In my defense, I was finally working after a long dry spell. It was only a few weeks temping BUT STILL. It worked well enough to get me my mortgage which gets my ex out of the house, not yet but soon. I mean, we still get along but he doesn't want to be here any more and I'd kind of like my space, thank you. Keeping Warm - Day 1 of AU Yeah August 2019, a little Bluestreak/Hound ficlet for pipermca

Fifty Drabbles from Fifty Prompts - Fifty true drabbles from fifty prompts written to celebrate the fiftieth title I've posted under the Transformers - All Media Types tag on AO3. Pretty much just an experiment.

Secured - Day 3 of AU Yeah August 2019.

For Love Reforms Vitality - I wanted to play more in the universe of In Every Voice He'd Ever Had so I wrote Jazz and Prowl's origins and first death/not death and reunion.

All the Good Things - It's so weird to look at the cotton candy (sweet fluff) piece this became compared to the very first draft with a severely depressed Prowl with a borderline eating disorder, neglected by his guardian and basically ignored by any and every authority figure whose supposed to be helping him. I stripped thousands of words out of this and rewrote it a few times to get to the end product. I was working out a lot of my own issues on this one and wound up not particularly wanting to put them on display. But, I did feel better once I got that darker rough draft done so - free therapy, I guess.

A Beneficial Arrangement - I decided to play more with the Mirage/Megatron arranged-marriage-to-shut-up-the-rebel AU from last year. I want to continue this one, I'm just not sure where it could go yet.

AU Yeah August - Drabbles - So far, there are four entries in this, days 2, 5, 6 and 8, and I'm not sure how many more there will be. Depends on
what I can keep short and what blossoms out of control.

Open Offers - Day 6 of AYA 2019, decided to write Perceptor/Jazz just 'cause.

A Meeting on the Sprawl - Transformers/Dead Space fusion written for the 2019 intoabar fic challenge.

The Emperor's New Plating - A Transformers version of The Emperor's New Clothes requested by the guest commenter I've nicknamed Fairy Tale Anon.

Balance - So, possible-demon!Jazz and Enforcer!Bluestreak from Trope Bingo Round 12 decided they wanted my attention again and that they should be a series. Thus, Systematic Chaos was born. (Because if I can name a series after a Dream Theater album, I will. ^_^) I don't know how they're going to solve the murders but I do know that Prowl's a warrior monk of sorts in this one.

Day 13, Horror, of AU Yeah August is finished but unpublished, a little Knock Out/Breakdown drabble.

WIPs

AU Yeah AUgust 2019 - I haven't forgotten it! But working full time after not doing so for a while, plus some personal stuff, drained me and gave me less time than usual to write so it's still ongoing. One year I may finish this challenge in August, but 2019 is not that year. Not helped that the entry I'm caught up on, Day 12, is pretty much just smut and I didn't want to write it at work.

Prowl x Jazz Anniversary Challenge 2019 - Short fics, minimum 500 words (except for #1 where I wasn't aware of the minimum) that I'm almost keeping up with!

A handful of other stuff, including Assassin AU 7, Wizard AU 8, Principatus 3, and Enclave 4, that are technically on hold but that I'll work on if I have time/inspiration during AU Yeah August.

An original horror fic that I'm mentioning here to shame myself into trying to finish it, even though it didn't work last month. Might try and sell this one, we'll see how it goes.

gatekat 's note in the bookmarks of 'Immortal Jazz and Primus lets stubborn fraggers come back' is my favorite summary of this so far.

The Party - Part 7 of The Adventures of Student!Jazz and Wizard!Prowl. While its short, this was underway for a while because I couldn't quite get it to work - not until I realized I was trying to tell two separate 'A' stories at the same time.

The Scientific Method - Done for

trope_bingo and

tf_rare_pairing and just why was Prowl hanging out in Perceptor's lab during Quest for Survival anyway? Besides to poke at alien plant specimens - no, seriously, he does, just leans over Perceptor's shoulder and prods the Morphobot fragment a couple times. Now I headcanon Prowl as being tactile and that's where the cushion covers in A Greater Than Zero Percentage came from.

All the Good Things, Chapter One - This is the

wipbigbang fic I've been working on since what feels like forever and, if I'm being honest, am still editing and rewriting parts of. The original rough draft was quite a bit darker and after I left it alone for a bit and came back to it I realized I was using it to exorcise a lot of nasty stuff from my past. This was good for me, but not good for the fic, so I cut a lot of it out. I'm still worried about dangling plot threads but I think I've got almost all of the snipped so far.

WIPs
I almost forgot about AU Yeah AUgust this year, which would've been a shame because the 1st one in 2018 is the one that got me writing again. Thankfully, I got my memory jogged when I saw someone else doing it. BUT! I have learnt my lesson and will not be creating one big multichapter fic for the whole thing because I'll just end up splitting something off into a series. (Assassin AU, Wizard Prowl, Principatus, Enclave...) Drabbles can get grouped together, everything else, we'll see.

AU Yeah AUgust 2019 - One short fic, Keeping Warm (Hound/Bluestreak, bed sharing/huddling for warmth) and one drabble, Unconventional (in which Jazz tries to talk Prowl into attending a con and inadvertently lets him in on the existence of RPF), are already done.
Fifty Different Flavours: Fifty Drabbles from Fifty Different Prompts is exactly what it says on the tin. I'm approaching my fiftieth (!) item published under the 'Transformers - All Media Types' tag on the AO3 and I wanted to do a sort of anniversary thing. It'll be done and up either today or tomorrow, probably.
Untitled Transformers/Dead Space fusion for the intoabar challenge that is almost done and just needs an ending. This also covers the AU: Fusion prompt for trope_bingo . Needs to be up by August 25.

WIPs
Getting back to some things I put on the back burning during

trope_bingo . I did sign up for Round 13 but I'm not going for a blackout this time. Single line is fine.

Untitled wipbigbang fic. I got the rough draft done, need to go back and flesh out a few scenes/plot points. The rough draft is due on the 6 and needs to be at least 80% complete and I've got that. Did not get claimed by an artist but that's ok because I was kind of anxious about that and my anxiety does not need more feeding right now, tyvm.
Assassin AU part 7. Because even though I would steer clear of Assassin!Prowl if he were real, as a fictional character he's fun to write. Difficult, because a lot of what he does is a potential red flag and it can be a fine line to walk, but fun.
Principatus 3. Probably just going to be getting Jazz set up in their new life as a corporeal entity, however permanent or impermanent that may turn out to be.
There are a couple more that were inspired by trope_bingo prompts but weren't going to get finished on time. I don't want to focus on those just yet, I want to clear out the older items from the WiP folder first.

Fic I Finished in May
Apology - May 6, 2019. That scene between Ratchet and Doctor Harding in Attack of the Autobots has bothered me for over thirty years, people.

Appetence - May 27, 2019. The fic is finished, though I've only posted the one chapter. Poor Mirage. I'll make it better for him - uh, later.

The Twelve Dancing Seekers - May 29, 2019. Replaced the Barbarian AU on which I was stuck with another Fairy Tale AU for the prompt AU: Other. My Fairy Tale Anon requested a variation on The Twelve Dancing Princesses and so this came about. With a few changes because, apart from the need to drug the hero, you could replace the twelve princesses in the original with twelve lamps and not make a huge difference. Plus the ending always bugged me: why were the princes under a curse? How did they know the princesses? Why does the princess who gets married off have to give up the prince she was involved with for this random guy? (Which yes, I recognize is a very modern approach but I didn't really get that when I was five.)

WIPs
I'm still working primarily on Trope Bingo so I'm excluding the non-TB WIPs. I almost never name things till it's posting time so these are mostly prompt names:

Reunion - I got stuck on what I originally wanted to do so I switched tack and managed to get something put together that I think is better than the original idea. As happens, on occasion. So while the other one's been on pause for a months now, the new version is rough-drafted and ready for editing.
AU: Historical - and when I say 'historical' I mean, 'I stuck them in a kingdom' because not much more history is happening so far.
Virgin Fic - Still going. Again, now getting past the 'awkward discussion' scene. God, I don't miss dating.
Free Space
Haunted House - Well. Haunted spaceship. Close enough.
Presumed Dead - still does not want to advance beyond the initial scene squirrel.
Rivals to Lovers - Actually NOT Prowl/Jazz. Surprise!

The one I complained about roughly a week ago is done in the rough draft, but it needs a lot more work to have some actual conflict added to it. That's fine. It's for

wipbigbang so I've got about five weeks left to do that before rough drafts are due and posting doesn't start till July 27th. I did drop the second fic I'd put in for the bang because it just was not going anywhere and I hit a major flaw in the plot the day of the withdrawal deadline, so away it went. If I can fix it I'll keep going with it later. I did get the snippets in for the other one, which means its now up for art claims, and I've never put anything up for an art claim before. I'm curious about how that's going to play out.
