6. When you write, do you prefer writing male or female characters?
Honestly? Male. I've always related to men better than women, largely because it's always been very hard to find women who are interested in the things I like: SF; fantasy; horror; video games; swords; dragons; gaming; scale model building; and the list goes on.
Until the internet! Praise be to being able to connect with people who share your interests but aren't near you. This is changing, thank goodness, as it becomes more and more acceptable to have nerdy interests but...I'm still the only female in my D&D group. I went to an IT networking event a couple of weeks ago and was the only woman in the room. However, when I go to the game store and I look at the young kids playing Minecraft and Pokémon and Magic it's much closer to a fifty-fifty split.
