Like it says on the tin, you answer one question per day about fandom. I've got the master list of questions here. I can't remember where I found this, and my browser history is...extensive and not helpful.
1. How did you first get into writing fanfic, and what was the first fandom you wrote for? What do you think it was about that fandom that pulled you in?
I started writing fanfic in elementary, actually, before I knew such a thing as fanfic or even fandom really existed. I wrote (terrible, plotless, Mary-Sue-tastic self-insert) Transformers fanfic, because real life was boring and I wanted to be off having adventures. It was, unquestionably, badfic, though in my defense I'd like to point out that I was about eight at the time. I always felt kind of guilty about it until I got hold of some Star Trek fanzines sometime in the 90s and realized I wasn't the only one who wanted to write stories like this. Then came the internet and fanfic wasn't only a thing, it was A Thing. I did write and publish some fic online in the 90s, but please the gods, I managed to get it all offline.
