What I Just Finished Reading: Found the first five compilations of IDW's More Than Meets the Eye on Kindle Unlimited and blitzed through them in a couple of days. Then I moved on to IDW's Robots in Disguise compilations and just finished volume 3. Since I spoiled myself for the ending of Lost Light (I didn't think I'd have any kind of access to the recent IDW work any time soon) it's hard to get any kind of emotional attachment to MTME though it is well done. I honesty did not think I'd enjoy RiD (again, based on accidentally spoiling myself) but it's been very engaging so far. (I may be biased by Prowl's prominence. Maybe. ^_^)
Also, seriously, there's only nine entries in the Red Alert/Rung tag? Really? 'Cuz I think I just found my new rarepair.
I'm counting More Than Meets the Eye, volume 1 for the Comic or Graphic Novel square on my LJ Book Bingo card.
What I'm Reading Now: The Stranger Beside Me by Ann Rule, the story of Ted Bundy's murders. It's a digital copy (via Kindle Unlimited again) of the 2008 re-release with an updated author's note at the beginning. Ann Rule famously knew and had worked with Bundy prior to his arrest so she has a unique insight here. I did read the author's note and, as I read through the book and the accounts of the murders where the author focuses on the victims and their friends and families, I'm horrified by the murders and creeped out by the fact that, in the author's note, Rule relates that she's still (as of 2007/8) getting mail from women who are fans of Bundy. Rule reproduces some of these questions in the note and the one that sticks out in my mind is 'Wasn't Ted really a nice person underneath?'
Rule simply replies 'No.'
What I'm Reading Next: Planning to go back to Naomi Novik's Temeraire series, which I started back in January and just kind of never got back to. My usual pre-bed reading time morphed into my pre-bed writing time. I seem to write better late at night than throughout the day.
