Day 7
Stretch yourself a little and try something new. Go play in a new fandom or with a new pairing. Try working in a new medium. Or check out some fanworks that are new to you. (The recs from Day 2 might be a good place to start.) Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
I explored the fics for Shirley Jackson's We Have Always Lived in the Castle. (Yes, the author who wrote The Lottery, which I'm sure you were forced to read at least once in school. The author is worth reading despite that - I don't consider it her best work. I'd recommend checking out either We Have Always Lived in the Castle or The Haunting of Hill House.)

Date: 2019-01-09 04:20 am (UTC)From:Public schools seem to have a thing for depressing literature. I flat-out rebelled the last time they tried to make us read Gift of the Magi *again *and I still cannot stand O. Henry.
The Haunting of Hill House *was made into *The Haunting in 1963 (haven't watched the Netflix series yet, but I can tell you not to bother with the remake) and I consider it to be one of the best psychological horror films ever made.
