The Fandom Snowflake Challenge: Day 13
Jan. 13th, 2014 01:52 pmDay 13
In your own space, talk about setting yourself a fannish goal. Big or small, it doesn't matter. Some great examples include: complete a bingo, sign-up for a Big Bang, write that fic you've been thinking about for years, podfic that story that you love, make a fanmix for your fandom, post that bit of meta or reclist you keep postponing. Maybe resolve to be better at leaving feedback, or answering comments. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.
Easiest one yet. :) A couple of the things I want to do are even hit on in the prompt!
I want to start keeping a rec list, or at least posting fic recs when I find something good. I really must start being better at leaving feedback, since that's pretty much the currency of fandom, and telling myself that 'short reviews are OK. Not everything needs an analysis'. (Curse you, high-school English classes!)
Mostly, I want to start writing again. I know I have some unfinished stuff in my Gdocs somewhere I should really get around to completing. Clinical depression kind of killed my urge to write, but now that my brain chemistry seems to be sorting itself out thanks to time + antidepressants, I want to get back into it again. Truthfully, I've been a bit nervous about it (I'm less shy IRL than online, if that makes any sense), but participating in the challenge and seeing all you lovely enthusiastic people has helped ease that. *hugs to you all*
